Pregnancy and Parenting Resources
While the Pregnancy Resource Center of Henry County is recognized in the community for providing pregnancy confirmation for hundreds of local families each year, some may not know about an important program offered by the center, the iNvest Parent Prep Program. This innovative program connects community professionals and business partners with the BrightCourse pregnancy and parenting curriculum. They offer group and individual classes on a variety of related topics. The iNvest program provides growing families with evidence-based information and one-on-one peer support along with access to an on-site baby boutique stocked with baby supplies every family needs. While the iNvest program itself is not new, the expanding program curriculum was updated during the Covid-19 pandemic and this allowed classes to continue virtually. This pivot allowed the center to continue to serve the community and as a result the iNvest program has met a vital need in the Henry County community.Pregnancy and Parenting ResourcesHere for Her
For many women that are concerned about pregnancy, the PRC has been a refuge of timely help. This patient was uncertain and scared. Her time with us during her pregnancy test appointment provided the information, hope, and encouragement she needed to make confident life-affirming decisions. Here for HerLearning Confident Parenting Skills
Regine and Cameron look forward to coming to iNvest classes. Regine initially came to the PRC for a pregnancy confirmation appointment. During her appointment with Ellen Fleming, RN, she learned about the iNvest Parent Prep Program for the first time. She was invited to enroll and encouraged to invite a support person. Regine invited the father, Cameron, and they began coming to the center each week for classes. The couple came to learn about parenthood, pregnancy, and what to expect during childbirth. The couple smiles as they tell me that they have found the one-on-one peer support the most helpful part of the program. They have been encouraged by the shared life experiences, prayer, and guidance they have received from the staff and volunteers. Now, first-time father Cameron says he can’t imagine not having had this experience at the PRC and would recommend the program to other fathers as well.Confident ParentingHelp when she needs it
For single mother, Jasmine, the PRC has “helped out a lot.” Jasmine and her 6-month-old son, Dylan, come to the PRC each week and attend iNvest classes. After Dylan was born, she found the iNvest program through an internet search for help with clothes and supplies for newborns. She acknowledges that being a single mother can be hard, but that she has found a unique place that she feels cared about and cared for while she learns more about parenting her son. During her appointment, she received a much-needed highchair that she earned through the program. We laughed about how many great memories will be made during messy meals in that highchair. Jasmine says that she has found the relationships with staff and volunteers at the PRC to be a great help. She says they have brought smiles to her and she looks forward to her time at the PRC each week.Help When Needed
