- Choices Have Consequences: Sonja's Story of Redemption and Hope Some choices define a moment, while others define the rest of your life. Some leave lasting imprints—memories that whisper in the quiet, demand your attention, and become central to your thoughts, no matter how much you wish to erase them. Abortion is that choice for many, and it was for me as well. As we all know, Choices have consequences. Some choices define a moment, and others define the rest of your life. For me, abortion was one of those choices. On February 13, 2000, I walked into an abortion clinic in Atlanta and surrendered the life growing inside me to a procedure I thought would restore “normalcy.” But the truth is, my life was never the same after that day. I vividly remember the emotions leading up to that moment—waves of nausea as I navigated my daily routine, coupled with spiraling thoughts about how a new child could possibly fit into our already stretched budget. My husband and I agreed abortion seemed like a solution, and I kept my pregnancy a secret from everyone else. But as I sat in that clinic, surrounded by other women hiding behind blank stares and nervous chatter, the weight of what I was doing began to grow. The day itself is etched in my memory like snapshots in an album—disconnected moments of bland waiting rooms, sterile exam spaces, and hushed voices. When the procedure was over, I believed the lie I had told myself: that life could simply go back to how it had been before. But that wasn’t true at all. Grief, shame, and despair crept into every corner of my mind, leaving me emotionally paralyzed. Two days later, I woke in the middle of the night, bleeding heavily. My husband slept as I stood alone in our bathroom, fearing for my life. I felt the crushing weight of what I had done and the conviction of my guilt. In that moment, the realization of the child I had never seen but knew I had lost became clearer in my mind than ever before. That one life—a life I was meant to protect—was gone, and I could never undo that choice. I knew the scriptures said “an eye for an eye” in Lev 24:19-21 and that was probably the first scripture I ever really realized as the truth. And it is truth. God has called us to love one another. Not to harm one made in His image. The enormity of my decision hit me with full force. I crumpled to the floor, crying out to God—not just for my life to be spared, but in deep repentance for my choice. I expected Him to turn away from me, to confirm the judgment I felt I deserved. But instead, I encountered something I never imagined: Jesus and forgiveness. As I poured out my sorrow, I was met with God’s unfathomable grace. His love surrounded me, washing over the shame and guilt, and for the first time, I began to understand the depth of His mercy and I accepted the salvation of Jesus Christ [...]
- The Journey of Fatherhood Starts with Support Fatherhood comes with great responsibility—and for many men, it can feel overwhelming, especially when an unexpected pregnancy changes their plans. At The Bridge Wellness South, we believe that strong fathers build strong families, and strong families create thriving communities. That’s why we launched Men On Mission, a fatherhood initiative designed to equip and encourage dads who want to step up for their children. For one young father named Quan, the journey to fatherhood started with a simple need—but turned into something much greater. Quan’s Story: More Than a Car Seat Quan first walked through our doors looking for a car seat. His girlfriend had delivered earlier than expected, and he just wanted to make sure their baby was safe. He had never thought about attending a parenting class or seeking out support—he simply wanted to be prepared. But something changed. When Quan returned for one of our M46 Dads Classes, he found something he didn’t know he needed: a brotherhood of men committed to fatherhood. In that room, he saw dads just like him—navigating the unknown, learning what it means to be a leader, protector, and provider. He left feeling encouraged, empowered, and ready to embrace fatherhood. Today, Quan still keeps in touch. His baby is home, mom and baby are doing well, and he now has the confidence to step into his role as a father with strength and purpose. Why Fatherhood Programs Matter For too long, fatherhood has been overlooked in pregnancy resource centers. But research shows that when fathers are involved, children are healthier, families are stronger, and communities are more stable. 💙 Involved dads = stronger families. Studies show that children with actively engaged fathers are more likely to thrive emotionally, academically, and socially. 💙 Breaking cycles of absence. Many young dads never had a positive father figure, making it difficult to know how to lead their own families. Programs like Men On Mission bridge that gap. 💙 Supporting both parents leads to lasting change. When dads step up, moms feel more supported, and families have a greater chance of success. At The Bridge Wellness South, we don’t just support women—we walk alongside entire families, offering mentorship, parenting education, and faith-based encouragement to both mothers and fathers. How You Can Help Strengthen Families Quan’s story is just one example of how investing in fathers transforms families and communities. Here’s how you can get involved: ✅ Join us in prayer. Every Thursday from 9:00-10:00 AM, we gather for Pray for One, Save Two, lifting up families, unborn babies, and fathers who are stepping up. ✅ Invite a dad to our next Men On Mission Class. We meet every other Thursday night—a safe space for men to grow, learn, and lead. ✅ Support programs like Men On Mission. Your donation provides mentorship, educational resources, and tangible support for dads like Quan who want to build a strong future for their families. Quan’s journey started with a car seat—but today, he is stepping into fatherhood with confidence. Your support makes this possible. Together, we can build stronger families and change lives for [...]

Investing in Families: How the Invest Parent Prep Program is Transforming Lives in Henry County
At The Bridge Wellness South, we believe that support doesn’t stop at “Congratulations, you’re expecting.” True support means walking alongside families, equipping them with the resources, knowledge, and confidence to thrive. That’s exactly what our Invest Parent Prep Program does—empowering parents with the skills they need to care for their children, build strong families, and create a foundation for a brighter future.
Recently, thanks to the incredible generosity of Eagles Landing First Baptist Church, we were able to provide brand-new car seats to families in need through this program. 🚗💙 This donation isn’t just about safety—it’s about equipping parents, giving them confidence, and ensuring every baby in Henry County has the best possible start in life.
What is the Invest Parent Prep Program?
Invest Parent Prep is a comprehensive education and mentorship program designed to support expectant parents and families with young children. Through one-on-one coaching, group classes, and hands-on training, we equip parents with essential skills in parenting, budgeting, healthy relationships, child development, and more.
As parents engage in the program, they also have the opportunity to earn baby essentials, including diapers, clothing, and—thanks to generous donors like Eagles Landing First Baptist—car seats and other critical baby gear.
Making a Measurable Impact in 2024
Last year alone, the Invest Parent Prep Program:
✅ Served 962 clients, equipping them with parenting education and support.
✅ Provided 807 pregnancy tests and 689 ultrasounds, giving parents vital early pregnancy care.
✅ Ensured safe sleep and car seat education was available to families in need.
✅ Witnessed 67 decisions for Christ, as we not only care for physical needs but also provide spiritual encouragement and discipleship.
Why This Matters
For many of the families we serve, resources are limited, and challenges feel overwhelming. A car seat is more than just an item—it’s a symbol of hope, security, and a fresh start for parents who may be struggling. Through Invest Parent Prep, we don’t just give items away—we empower parents to provide for their children, reinforcing the value of responsibility, preparation, and confidence in their parenting journey.
Join Us in Making a Difference
Eagles Landing First Baptist Church’s generosity is a perfect example of how community partnerships make a real impact. But the need doesn’t stop here. If you want to invest in the future of Henry County’s families, you can:
💙 Pray for the families we serve.
💡 Donate baby essentials, car seats, or financial gifts.
🙌 Volunteer as a mentor, coach, or support person in our parent prep classes.
Together, we can empower parents, strengthen families, and build a community where every child is nurtured, safe, and loved.
